The Heart

The heart is not just an organ that pump blood through our system.
It also handles our emotion.

The heart has the ability to feel.
It gives life and colors to a person's life.

How does the chemist in our body know what to mix when we experience feelings of various sort?

Who determine that love should feel this way?
And the feeling of fear that way?

Who gives the instruction to the chemist within us?

That it knows the right dosage to mix so that we may feel as it was intended ?

Who invented this feeling call awe?
This phenomenon call awestruck?

Why is this feeling created in us?
Surely it has its purpose?

To whom shall we feel in awe of ?

Oh that we may experience more of His glory!
Oh that we may always be so filled with the awe of Yahweh all the days of our life !

How awesome is our God in all the earth!
The creator of all my emotion !

Help me Lord to seek the Joy in the way you meant it for me!

Help me Lord to love you in a way you ought to be loved

How bless are those who fear is in the Lord!

Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord.(Psalm 128:1-4)

I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. (Psalm 63:4)

They were awestruck, and glorified God

Matthew 9:1-8
The Paralytic is Forgiven
9 So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city. 2 Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

3 And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”

4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 7 And he arose and departed to his house.

8 Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

Our problem—and not ours only, but the problem of our Conference and of most evangelicals nationwide—is that we do not realize that there is no genuine worship where feelings for God are not quickened. There is not true worship where the heart is far from God. But the heart's approach to God happens in the quickening of our feelings for God. Therefore, where feelings are dead, so is worship.
~John Piper

The heart, my friend, is not some blood pumping muscle or some figment of a poet’s imagination. It refers to the very essence or core of your being. Don’t tell me Jesus has the very essence and core of your being and it doesn’t affect your body. It is just not going to happen.

We have not known thee as we ought,

1 We have not known thee as we ought,
nor learned thy wisdom, grace and pow'r;
the things of earth have filled our thought,
and trifles of the passing hour.
Lord, give us light thy truth to see,
and make us wise in knowing thee.

2 We have not feared thee as we ought,
nor bowed beneath thine awful eye,
nor guarded deed, and word, and thought,
remembering that God was nigh.
Lord, give us faith to know thee near,
and grant the grace of holy fear.

3 We have not loved thee as we ought,
nor cared that we are loved by thee;
thy presence we have coldly sought,
and feebly longed thy face to see.
Lord, give a pure and loving heart
to feel and own the love thou art.

4 We have not served thee as we ought;
alas! the duties left undone,
the work with little fervor wrought,
the battles lost, or scarcely won!
Lord, give the zeal, and give the might,
for thee to toil, for thee to fight.

5 When shall we know thee as we ought,
and fear, and love, and serve aright!
When shall we, out of trial brought,
be perfect in the land of light!
Lord, may we day by day prepare
to see thy face, and serve thee there.
~ Thomas Benson Pollock (1889)
