Honor your father and your mother

Honor your father and your mother
============================

Exodus 20:12 NKJV

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Some time I contemplates about the debt of love I have to return my parents, it can be quite challenging.

I am only half way through repaying and the strain that is putting on me can be at time quite unbearable.

I can't help but to give praise to Christ that He had paid our debt in full. Went through the whole ordeal of it in total submission to the will of God. It is finished He said. And there will be no after reckoning.

Honor your father and your mother just as Christ our Lord has Honor God in full.

Thank you Lord Jesus for the price you pay.

Question:

Do you honor God by honoring your parent or are you trying to honor God by diligently serving Him thus neglecting your parent?

Matthew 15:5-9 NLT

But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ ”

God is not serve by human hands, as though He needed anything.

Acts 17:24-25 ESV
The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.

Your allegiance is to the Lord not man.
