Messiah was to die as a sacrifice for sin

Messiah was to die as a sacrifice for sin

Isaiah 53:5
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
But He was [a]pierced through for (A)our transgressions,
He was crushed for (B)our iniquities;
The (C)chastening for our [b]well-being fell upon Him,
And by (D)His scourging we are healed.

Isaiah 53:6
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To [a]fall on Him.

Isaiah 53:8
New Living Translation (NLT)
Unjustly condemned,
    he was led away.[a]
No one cared that he died without descendants,
    that his life was cut short in midstream.[b]
But he was struck down
    for the rebellion of my people.

Isaiah 53:10
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
10 But the Lord was pleased
To (A)crush Him, [a](B)putting Him to grief;
If [b]He would render Himself as a guilt (C)offering,
He will see (D)His [c]offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the [d]good (E)pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.

Isaiah 53:11
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
11 As a result of the [a]anguish of His soul,
He will (A)see [b]it and be satisfied;
By His (B)knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will (C)bear their iniquities.

Isaiah 53:12
New Living Translation (NLT)
12 I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,
    because he exposed himself to death.
He was counted among the rebels.
    He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, (A)the Lamb of God who (B)takes away the sin of the world!

John 11:49-52
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
49 But one of them, (A)Caiaphas, (B)who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50 nor do you take into account that (C)it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.” 51 Now he did not say this [a]on his own initiative, but (D)being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation, 52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also (E)gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

Acts 10:43
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
43 Of Him (A)all the prophets bear witness that through (B)His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 13:38
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
38 Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that (A)through [a]Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

Acts 13:39
New Living Translation (NLT)
39 Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do.
